Our internship program is a rewarding experience for students who wish to gain insight into the function of a US Senate Committee and gain experience in researching, writing and Committee and Senate processes and procedure.

This is a very competitive process.  There are usually more qualified applicants than positions available.  Interns are responsible for their own housing, food, and transportation.  We offer academic credit to students who are eligible for it at their institution.  Interns who do not receive academic credit may be eligible for a stipend.

We typically host one fall, one spring, and two summer intern classes.  Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.  The following schedule is a rough guide.

  • Fall internships run from late August or early September to early December.
  • Spring internships run from mid-January to late April or early May.
  • Summer internships run from mid-May to late June and again from late June to mid-August.

We appreciate your interest in a internship.  If you are selected to go further in the hiring process, you will be notified by e-mail.
