First Time Here?

Senator Durbin offers a law clerkship program for law students who are interested in experiencing the day-to-day operations of a Senator's Judiciary Committee team. For the upcoming summer 2021 semester, Senator Durbin’s office will not offer in-person clerkships in the Illinois or DC offices. However, law students can apply for a remote clerkship with the Chair Durbin’s Judiciary team. Law clerk schedules are based on each student’s days and hours of availability.

Academic credit--based solely on each institution's criteria--may be earned. Stipends for qualified law students will be available.

Students are strongly urged to send their materials as soon as possible, as positions fill quickly.

Please create an account and follow the directions listed on this website to complete your application for the Washington, D.C. Clerkship program.  For opportunities in any of the offices located in Illinois, please follow the instructions listed at this site: https://www.durbin.senate.gov/help/internships

Thank you for your interest in Senator Durbin’s Clerkship Program.
