To request a nomination from Senator Bill Cassidy, you must complete the full nomination application found via this website. You must finish the application and submit all requested materials no later than 11:59 PM CT on November 1, 2024. The application will close at midnight on November 2. Please create an account if you do not already have one. When you do, you will be sent an activation email. Once you activate your account per the email's instructions, you will be able to begin your application.
As explained on this website, you must submit the following to our office to be considered for a nomination:
- Application form (comes in the form of a questionnaire via this website)
- A resume explaining your extra-curricular activities
- A recent picture of yourself
- High School and/or College Transcript
- An essay of less than 500 words on why you want to attend a Service Academy
- SAT/ACT scores (see here for more details)
- 3-5 Letters of Recommendation (see here for more details)
You must also meet the following basic requirements for admittance into any Service Academy:
- Age: At least 17 by July 1 of the entering year, but no older than 23
- Citizenship: Have U.S. citizenship or obtain it by the date required by the Service Academy (under no circumstances will it be on or after the date you arrive at the Academy)
- Residency: A legal resident of the United States (and of Louisiana to receive one of Senator Cassidy's nominations)
- Martial Status or Dependency: Unmarried, not pregnant and have no legal obligation to support a child or dependent
- Academic: Complete SAT or ACT exams (contact individual Service Academies for their specific requirements)
- Health: Must pass the Service Academy's physical requirements and medical examination
- Character: Of strong moral character
Once your application is submitted, you will be scheduled for an interview before Senator Bill Cassidy's Service Academy Review Board, in November or December after Thanksgiving. If you reside in Louisiana, you must appear in-person before the Senator's Review Board in Baton Rouge. If you don't, a Zoom interview will be arranged. We will plan to inform you by the following February whether you've received a Service Academy nomination(s) from Senator Cassidy. Offers of appointment will roll out starting that month from the Service Academies.
