Congressionally Directed Spending Fiscal Year 2026

Senator Klobuchar is now accepting Congressionally Directed Spending requests for state and local government entities and non-profit organizations based in Minnesota. This funding opportunity allows Members of Congress to request funds in the annual federal budget to be allocated for specific projects in their states. It is an opportunity for eligible entities to obtain a one-time allocation of funds for projects.

This application aims to identify high-impact projects in Minnesota that can be completed with federal government assistance. Submitting this application should not be construed as a guarantee that funding will be awarded; funding is limited, and not all eligible requests will be funded.

  • These requests must be completed and submitted by Monday, March 31, 2025, at 11:59 PM CT.
  • Eligible entities include state and local government entities and non-profit organizations. For-profit entities are not eligible.
  • Congressionally Directed Spending items selected for funding by the Appropriations Committee are subject to audits by the Government Accountability Office.
  • Only completed forms will be accepted. If you need assistance, please email CDS@klobuchar.senate.gov.
  • All submissions must be completed electronically via this form.
  • All submissions must include a detailed project budget.

This FY 2026 Form is subject to change pending guidance from the Appropriations Committee, including a list of accounts that are eligible for CDS. A specific list of the CDS accounts and eligibility requirements in the FY 2025 process is available here. This website and form will be updated accordingly when the FY 2026 guidance is available.
