First Time Here?

Senator Durbin offers a law clerkship program for law students who are interested in experiencing the day-to-day operations of a Senator's Judiciary Committee team.

Based on CDC and Office of Attending Physician (OAP) recommendations, we expect the fall 2021 clerkship to be a hybrid program, with clerks working primarily in the office and partially remotely. For health and safety reasons, it may be necessary to move the program into a fully remote experience.

Academic credit--based solely on each institution's criteria--may be earned. Stipends for qualified law students will be available.

Students are strongly urged to send their materials as soon as possible, as positions fill quickly.

Please create an account and follow the directions listed on this website to complete your application for the Washington, D.C. Clerkship program.  For opportunities in any of the offices located in Illinois, please follow the instructions listed at this site: https://www.durbin.senate.gov/help/internships

Thank you for your interest in Senator Durbin’s Clerkship Program.
