Welcome to the online Service Academy nomination application for Senator John Kennedy! EVERYONE MUST CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT FOR EACH APPLICATION YEAR!
*Acceptance at an Academy involves at least a nine year obligation to the particular Service: 4 years at the Academy and 5 years of Service.*
It is in your best interest to request a nomination through all sources available to you: Presidential, Vice Presidential, Senatorial, and Congressional. Please contact the individual Service Academy for more information. It is strongly recommended that each candidate apply to both U.S. Senators and their Congressman in Louisiana.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
An applicant must meet the following eligibility requirements as of July 1st of the year of admission to a Service Academy:
• Must be a United States Citizen
• Must be a legal resident of Louisiana
• Must be at least 17 years of age, but cannot have passed their 23rd birthday
The US Merchant Marine Academy varies slightly, allowing individuals between the ages of 17 and 25 to apply.
• Must meet the medical, physical, and academic requirements of the Academy (contact the Academies directly for more information regarding their standards).
• Cannot be pregnant or have a legal obligation to support children or other dependents.
2023-2024 APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR SENATOR KENNEDY
You must submit the information below through your online account by 11:59 p.m., Wednesday, November 1st. Incomplete application accounts will not be considered, no exceptions will be made.
Complete all sections of the online application questionnaire. You should use the Checklist as a reminder of additional items that you will need to submit to Senator Kennedy’s Office via uploaded attachment.
In order to use the application, you must create a unique username and password, which allows you to log into your application at any time and add information. The Office of Senator Kennedy does not have access to your login information; therefore, we are unable to provide assistance if the password is lost or forgotten. Please store your login information in a safe location.
It is incumbent upon and required for the candidate to complete the application on his/her own accord. While parents may wish to be helpful, candidates are expected to adhere to an Honor Code by verifying that the completed application is his/her own work. This demonstrates dedication and an ethical personality, which are two qualifications highly valued by the Academies and my Academy Nominations Review Board.
Once you complete the online application, you must click the “Submit” button at the end in order to submit your application to Senator Kennedy. Once you click the “Submit” button, you will no longer be able to change or update the information in your online application.
Please visit the Service Academies section of Senator John Kennedy’s website for a list of application requirements. This information must be submitted online no later than 11:59 PM on Wednesday, November 1st. Please note that this deadline is firm and no exceptions will be made.
