Legislative Correspondent Position Description: The Office of U.S. Senator Gary C. Peters seeks a highly motivated, detail oriented and resourceful Legislative Correspondent in the Washington, D.C. office to support a broad portfolio including Great Lakes, environment, energy and climate, agriculture, maritime, public lands, space and science in a fast-paced legislative office. Duties include processing and responding to constituent mail, conducting research, providing assistance to senior legislative staff, drafting memos for the Senator, and meeting with constituents and stakeholders. Exceptional writing, communication, organizational skills and professionalism are necessary. Michigan ties, previous Hill experience, proficiency in IQ, and a public policy background are preferred.
