The Northern Virginia East Office of Senator Tim Kaine, which is located in the city of Fredericksburg, offers internships to talented students. Interns will have the opportunity to learn about the legislative process, constituent services, and outreach while gaining experience in the daily operations of the U.S. Senate. Interns assist in performing various administrative tasks such as greeting guests, drafting correspondence, and sorting mail. They also assist in research, special projects, and events.
Interested candidates should fill out an application by following the online instructions and submitting the listed required materials. Internship applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Early submission of your application is encouraged. Preference will be given to Virginia residents and in-state college students. The office offers a choice between a small salary or class class credit for the internship.
Due to the large number of applications we receive, the office is unable to offer an internship to every applicant.
