Position Description: The Office of U.S. Senator Gary C. Peters seeks a press assistant or deputy press secretary based in either Washington, DC or Michigan. Responsibilities will include: drafting press releases, advisories, talking points and other written materials; leading weekly radio pitching and working with press in several Michigan media markets; managing a press intern; and assisting a fast-paced communications team. This role may require some travel to Michigan, if based in DC. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, a strong writer and communicator, organized and a team player. Title will depend on experience.
