Senator Cortez Masto has the opportunity to nominate qualified Nevadans to the Senate Page Program. A nomination does not guarantee the student a spot in the program.
ROLE OF A SENATE PAGE
As a page, you will spend the majority of your day working on the U.S. Senate floor. This means that you will be privy to a front row seat in the theater of democracy. You will see things firsthand that people all over the world will only hear on the evening news or read in the morning papers. Never forget where you are and the privilege you have of representing your state and serving your country.
As you might expect, this privilege comes with tremendous expectations. Pages are considered representatives of the United States Senate, and you should understand that your actions, wherever you are, reflect not only on you but also on your sponsor and the Senate as a whole. You are expected to conduct yourself with the utmost maturity, professionalism, and dignity. Anything less will not be tolerated.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
In order to be appointed as a Senate page, a student must meet the following criteria:
- must be a citizen of the United States;
- must be sixteen or seventeen years of age on the date of appointment (pages may not have turned eighteen);
- must be enrolled in his or her junior year of high school (summer pages may be rising juniors or rising seniors);
- must have a cumulative grade point average of a 3.0/B if serving during the fall or spring semester.
Application Process
To submit your application, please create an applicant account here and complete the questionnaire. You will then see a checklist that includes a letter of recommendation and either a letter on school letterhead from the school principal, guidance counselor, or registrar stating the student’s date of birth, year in school, and the expected year of graduation OR a report card or transcript which states the student’s date of birth, year in school, and the expected year of graduation.
Application deadlines are as follows:
Spring: September 15
Summer: January 15
Fall: May 15
Please email pages@cortezmasto.senate.gov with any questions.
