Thank you for your interest in an internship in Senator Shaheen's New Hampshire office!
Interning in the United States Senate is a great opportunity to get experience working in a busy U.S. Senate Office. In Senator Shaheen's New Hampshire office, interns gain a special perspective on how a U.S. Senator works on the local level to serve her constituents effectively. Interns are able to take part in a wide variety of activities in support of the Administrative, Constituent Services, and Projects & Policy departments of the New Hampshire office. The program seeks to provide participants with opportunities to hone the skills necessary to embark on a career in politics or public policy.
Interns in the New Hampshire office are expected to work a maximum of 8-12 hours per week. Additional hours may be arranged to fulfill academic requirements.
Many of the duties of interns in the office will focus on providing administrative support for the rest of the staff. Specific responsibilities will vary depending upon the interests and abilities of the individual intern.
