Senator Hirono offers clerkships to current law students during the academic year and the summer. Each law clerk will observe the legislative process by working with Senator Hirono's Judiciary team on the wide variety of issues in the Judiciary Committee's jurisdiction. Law clerks will be assigned a wide variety of projects, including legal research and preparation of memoranda and materials for committee hearings and votes. These positions provide a unique opportunity to participate in the functioning of the Senate. Clerkships are full- or part-time. Stipends may be available. Clerks must able to work at least two full days each week between Monday and Thursday. Ideally, clerks will be able to work at least three days each week between Monday and Thursday. Some hybrid work may be available, but this is primarily an in-person opportunity, and clerks must be based in Washington, D.C.
