Position Description: The Office of U.S. Senator Gary C. Peters seeks a strategic communications advisor or communications advisor based in either Washington, DC or Michigan. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to: helping pitch and field national press inquiries to advance short-term and long-term communications goals and priorities, drafting releases and other written materials, collaborating with digital director on digital projects, and partnering with outreach staff to leverage in-state communications opportunities. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, experienced, a strong writer and communicator, strategic and creative. This not an entry level position — previous Capitol Hill, campaign or similar experience is preferred.
