Programmatic Funding Requests
Senator Schatz is interested in hearing from you about funding that benefits Hawaii and our nation. This application is for programmatic funding requests. Programmatic funding makes up the vast majority of federal discretionary spending and includes most federal agency programs, including programs that award money to Hawaii entities through funding formulas, competitive grant applications, or loans.
State and local governments, organizations, or other communities that benefit, or stand to benefit, from existing federal programs can advocate for an increase in resources to those programs by submitting programmatic funding requests. You can also use this form to request bill text or report language. These forms request detailed information that is best provided by organizations, agencies, nonprofits, and firms that are local recipients, administrators, or stakeholders of federal programmatic funding.
You are able to make multiple appropriations requests. Please fill out a separate application for each request. If you would like to make more general comments about federal programs, please do so using Senator Schatz’s contact page. The full jurisdiction of each subcommittee is viewable on the committee’s, website.
Deadline
For fiscal year 2026 appropriations, forms must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. HST (10:00 p.m. EST) Friday, March 7, 2025. Forms submitted after the deadline will be considered on a rolling basis when possible. If you have not submitted a request in previous years, we recommend that you contact a member of Senator Schatz’s legislative staff well in advance of submitting your form. Please contact Schatz_Appropriations@schatz.senate.gov to be connected with the appropriate legislative staffer.
