Students interning with Senator Kaine’s Roanoke office will learn about the legislative process and assist in constituent services and outreach while gaining experience in the daily operations of the U.S. Senate.
Full-time and part-time internships are available. Internships require a minimum commitment of 16 hours per week, and ideal candidates will be able to work certain days from 9:00am to 5:00pm. The fall/winter, spring, and summer sessions are open to students who are rising college juniors and seniors. Preference will be given to Virginia residents and in-state college students. Paid internships or college credit are available for prospective candidates.
Interested candidates should fill out an application by following the online instructions and submitting the listed required materials. Internship applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Early submission of your application is encouraged.
Due to the number of applications we receive, not every applicant will be offered a position.
