U.S. Senator Tom Carper’s (D-Del.) Washington D.C. office is accepting applications for the Spring 2024 semester. This internship presents an opportunity for both a unique learning experience and an inside look at the legislative process. Duties include compiling legislative research, attending Congressional hearings/events, and assisting staff with special projects. Candidates should possess strong writing and research skills and a demonstrated interest in American politics.  Candidates from BIPOC, LGBT+, working class, military, and/or other underrepresented communities are strongly encouraged to apply, as well as candidates with ties to Delaware. The final deadline to apply to the Washington, D.C. office is November 30th.

Interested candidates should complete the questionnaire and submit a cover letter, resume, and one brief (500-word max) writing sample. Applicants with Delaware ties and/or current Delaware students will be given high consideration. Please no walk-ins or phone calls.
