Mid-Michigan Regional Coordinator Position Description: U.S. Senator Gary C. Peters seeks a highly-motivated, organized Regional Coordinator for his Mid-Michigan Regional Office located in Lansing, Michigan. Working with the Senator’s Mid-Michigan Regional Director, the Regional Coordinator’s primary duties include handling office administrative tasks, including among other things, answering phones, opening mail, drafting and coordinating correspondence, and managing the office’s internship program. The Regional Coordinator also assists with representing the Senator at meetings and public events, as assigned by the Regional Director. The position requires some travel to communities throughout the Mid-Michigan region. This includes occasional meetings and events during evenings and weekends.

The ideal candidate is personable, dependable, flexible, able to multitask and prioritize, and works well under pressure. The candidate should have familiarity with the region and an interest in constituent services and public policy. A background or experience with government or customer service is preferred, and strong writing and grammar skills are a must. To be successful, the candidate should be both self-motivated and able to work independently, but also comfortable working as part of a large, highly-coordinated team.
