Senator Hirono offers clerkships to current law students during the summer. Each law clerk will observe the legislative process by working with Senator Hirono's Judiciary team on the wide variety of issues in the Judiciary Committee's jurisdiction. Law clerks will be assigned a wide variety of projects, including legal research and preparation of memoranda and materials for committee hearings and votes. These positions provide a unique opportunity to participate in the functioning of the Senate. Summer clerkships are full-time. Stipends may be available. Some hybrid work may be available on Mondays and/or Fridays, but this is primarily an in-person opportunity, and clerks must be based in Washington, D.C. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and we may fill all positions before the expiration date listed above.
